Today was a great day at the Lift we were very busy fixing and inspecting cars. Also add the partnership with Element giving service to our community to specifically do winter inspections. Then getting other gifts from past customers was a very thoughtful. It was just one of those days where we got to see the Lift receiving service, was a nice change
First off wish to point out I had never known there was two official ways to spell "gray & gray," I was honestly surprised. But I degreases today felt much longer then normal yet went by faster then I expected. It was busy all day and my day felt like I had one thing after another. Finalizing the volunteer policy finally after the month and a half I have been here. My first big project and if feels nice to know the system I have made is about to be tested. I have my first volunteer to use this new system of informing and training with. Now I get a chance to prove I know and can start to do it myself. Until next time, Diana
It has been an interesting day for me both today and yesterday, which was felt at the Lift too. I didn't come in yesterday because of a program requirement. I missed The Lift especially because it was in the middle of the week and through my routine off. Wednesday itself was also just a challenging day of heavy emotions and topics very much need to come to light. Similarly at the Lift it was a lot more chaotic then it had been this whole week but glad we all got through it. I am also glad that today was very much a relaxing day of free food and full bays. Lets hope it continues like this for a while and it doesn't get to busy. Until next time and have a great rest of the week and weekend. Diana
Today was a slow day at The Lift, but made a lot of progress on setting my goals for myself. I am moving from thrown into the wolves to taming those wolves so to speak. I have my projects lined up and with possible deadlines plus new ideas to start up. It even got more livelier with a sweet woman coming in with bread as a gift. Is very delicious, banana chocolate and a sort of cinnamon roll glad I got a bit. I just can't wait to continue making these goals accomplished. First one up is the policy I got till Friday now just got to finalize it. Till next time and have a good day y'all. Diana Campos
Let me just say it was good to come back to the Lift Garage after two days away for a conference in Jordan, MN. I got to really expand my view on what it mean to be in this position and ideas of what I can realistically accomplish in my year here. I am starting to set my goals and what my new project are. I have to admit one of my favorite parts was after the conference going to Minnesota's biggest candy store, it was so amazing. Had never gone so to also see new scenery was very rewarding. Also glad that things went smoothly and it was nice to catch up with my co-workers.
Wow it is Friday and the weekend is tomorrow I couldn't be more excited. So much happened this week at the Lift we were spoiled by customers and co-workers bring food and snacks, such a kind jester. Cathy has her birthday this Sunday and a fundraiser which could result in a perm. Let me just say I am excited if it does come but we raise the money first. It keeps getting better, but feel like I still can do more so hopefully when I go to the MAVA conferience I'll learn more on what I can reasonably do. Have a great weekend all. Also don't forget to listen to "the life mechanic" podcast in the Crazy good turns website https://crazygoodturns.org/ Diana
Yesterday I got the chance to meet another volunteer coordinator and really start to learn what it meant. I growing excited to expand as a volunteer coordinator and all new projects I get to try. The new people and networking of this position just gets me pumped to see what else I can contribute here at the Lift Garage. Also wanted to promote Cathy the founder at the Lift Garage podcast interview "The life Mechanic" in the Crazy Good Turns website https://crazygoodturns.org/. Until Next Time, Diana
